More and more couples ask their wedding guests for cash instead of traditional gifts. This is definitely more practical than wondering what to do with five coffee sets or dishware that doesn’t fit. Practical doesn’t need to be boring though. See how you can gift money creatively!
I have to admit that I haven’t been particularly creative when giving money to the newlyweds. I usually put it in an envelope with a greetings card and focused mostly on the wishes. The envelope, in turn, was usually inside the “The 5 Love Languages” by Gary Chapman. I still recommend this book to every young couple, but I believe I could be more creative next time. After all, there are so many interesting ways to gift money as a wedding gift!
How to gift money – spectacularly
1. Origami
Most of the ideas for creative money giving that I found on the Internet are inspired by the art of origami. Flowers, bouquets, trees, garlands, rosettes, butterflies, birthday cakes, wedding outfits, hearts… The imagination and skills of their authors seem to have no limits, and the effects are truly impressive. Can these works of art, however, be produced by normal people? And, more importantly, are such gifts still practical? I would personally be afraid that the banknotes would tear while unfolding, and the newlyweds would receive far less than they were meant to.
2. Balloons with cash
3. Chocolate box with cash

4. Treasure chest with coins
5. Suitcase with banknotes

6. Boxes inside boxes
Attach banknotes to the undersides of boxes. The newlyweds will expect to find their gift in the boxes, but will only discover it once they turn the boxes upside down.
7. Box with popcorn and money hidden inside
This will also require quite some time.
8. Coins wrapped as candies
Each coin should be wrapped separately!
9. 100 envelopes with money hidden only in some of them
Like in a raffle – only some envelopes win!
10. Maze cube bank
The newlyweds will have to solve a puzzle to lay their hands on their gift.
How to gift money for a wedding – practically
11. Money in a piggy bank that can be personalised
12. Money album
Slip each banknote in a separate pocket. Later, the newlyweds will be able to use the album for their photos.
Money gift with intended use
This use should be funny and creative!
13. First million for a good start
Fold several banknotes so that the amount of zeros is six.
14. Coloured pencils wrapped with banknotes
For a colourful life!
15. Money in tea box compartments
Money in each compartment should be dedicated to a different purpose.
16. Photo album with intended money uses
Slip banknotes inside pockets, and write their intended use next to the “photo”. You may also add appropriate funny pictures as an illustration.

Hi Asia!
Well done as usual! All of the ideas are cool, some of them are really amazing. I particularly like the hearts, balloons, 100 envelopes & boxes in boxes, but the one that made me burst out laughing and made my wife look at me in a weird way was “your first million” xD.
Awesome!
Glad you’ve enjoyed it! Let me know if you ever use any of these ideas!
